An occasion for CAQDAS users from all disciplines to share their experience with qualitative software. The conference aims to bring users from the North and South, from the East and the West and from the centers and the peripheries, and focuses on how research practices from diverse worlds have been fostering qualitative computing.

Aims to examine and celebrate the utility of qualitative inquiry while also highlighting the interdisciplinary nature of qualitative research. The conference welcomes theoretical, empirical, and methodological papers from both novice and veteran scholars.

The theme of the 2011 Congress is "Qualitative Inquiry and the Politics of Advocacy." The 2011 Congress will offer scholars the opportunity to debate these issues, to foreground the politics of advocacy, pro and con, to form coalitions, to engage in debate on how qualitative research can be used to advance the causes of social justice, while addressing racial, ethnic, gender and environmental disparities in education, welfare and healthcare.

Showcases scholarly investigations that use qualitative methodologies to understand all aspects of the human experience. The theme of the 2011 conference is "The Power of Grounded Theory for Social Change."
